About Us

Betty came to NZ from Taiwan in 1997 as a 17 year-old in order to complete her High School education here. She quickly fell in love with both the country and the friendly people, so decided to stay.

After received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2003, she spent a year as a Dental House Surgeon in Dunedin prior to working as a General Dentist in the Manawatu & Wanganui region.

Her interest in Orthodontics led her to return and complete a three year Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics at University of Otago, graduating in 2009. During this time she passed her membership exams in Orthodontics with the both the Australasian and Edinburgh Royal Colleges of Surgeons. She is also a member of the NZ Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists and World Federation of Orthodontists.

She is also a certified member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board, meaning that the standard of her diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment outcomes is regularly examined by an independent group of her peers.

 

Kyle's roles are as the Practice & Business Manager. He is directly involved in providing our patients and their families with the highest quality of service and advice possible. He would be happy to discuss any general enquiries that you may have, including about cost of treatment, without the need for an appointment. Betty and Kyle are married and they have two young children together.

He was born and raised in Taranaki, leaving to study and eventually gain a PhD in genetics in the UK. Like many Kiwi’s he has travelled extensively and loves spending time in the outdoors. He met Betty while she was studying at the University of Otago, and where he previously worked as a research scientist. 

 

Lisa's role is ensure that treatment is always provided in an efficient and timely manner. She has worked in the dental area for over 14 years so has a wealth of knowledge that she can share with our customers. 

She is also the mother of three daughters so has a great understanding of the challenges that all parents face.
