Betty came to NZ from Taiwan in 1997 as a 17 year-old in order to complete her High School education here. She quickly fell in love with both the country and the friendly people, so decided to stay.
After received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2003, she spent a year as a Dental House Surgeon in Dunedin prior to working as a General Dentist in the Manawatu & Wanganui region.
Her interest in Orthodontics led her to return and complete a three year
Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics at University of Otago, graduating in 2009. During this time she passed her membership exams in Orthodontics with the both the
Australasian and
Edinburgh Royal Colleges of Surgeons. She is also a member of the
NZ Association of Orthodontists,
American Association of Orthodontists and
World Federation of Orthodontists.
She is also a certified member of the
Australasian Orthodontic Board, meaning that the standard of her diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment outcomes is regularly examined by an independent group of her peers.
